My Story: A Personal Need Became My Passion
Cherie’s Pet Sitting began in 1993 because of a need I experienced in my own life.
I had a beloved Labrador Retriever who went everywhere with me. As she grew older, traveling became more difficult for her. I often found myself staying home because I didn’t know whom I could trust to provide the care she needed.
I had tried asking friends and neighbors for help, but they didn’t always understand the importance of letting her outside at the proper intervals, giving her medication on time, or ensuring she always had fresh water.
I realized that other pet owners faced the same challenge. They needed someone who understood that caring for a pet involves much more than simply putting food in a bowl.
That realization inspired me to start Cherie’s Pet Sitting.
Although my beloved Labrador is no longer with me, the memories we shared and the joy she brought my family continue to inspire my work every day. What began as a personal need has grown into a lifelong commitment to helping other families care for their beloved animals.
A Lifelong Love of Animals
My compassion for animals began when I was a little girl and has remained with me throughout my life. I love dogs of all breeds, cats, horses, birds, fish, reptiles, and many other animals.
I believe some people have a special ability to understand animals—to recognize their personalities, notice changes in their behavior, and sense when something isn’t quite right.
That sensitivity is an important part of how I care for your pets. I pay attention to their habits, comfort, appetite, and behavior so I can provide care that respects who they are and what they need.

Before beginning service, I require an initial consultation so I can meet you and your pets.
During this visit, we’ll discuss feeding instructions, daily routines, health concerns, medications, behavior, and any special requests you may have. I’ll also spend time getting acquainted with your pet, so they have an opportunity to become comfortable with me.
This meeting helps establish trust, clarify expectations, and make sure I understand how to care for your pet properly.
I encourage you to share anything that will help me provide the best possible care. The more I know about your pet, the better I can accommodate their individual needs.
